These Terms govern your use of Alinea, an Aleatrick app. By creating an account, publishing content, or purchasing Membership, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Local-first use
You may create Private notes, Drafts, Walks, Sketches, Photos, Voice notes, and local archives without signing in. You are responsible for keeping important local-only data backed up. If optional sync is off, local records may not be recoverable after device loss, app deletion, or device erasure.
Your content
You retain ownership of content you create. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to store, publish, or share it.
When you publish or share content, you grant Aleatrick a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, resize, distribute, and display that content only as needed to operate Alinea, provide the selected visibility, protect the service, and honor deletion or withdrawal requests.
Public participation
Public features require an account. Visibility may include Followers only, Link only, and Public. Link only content is not intended for Feed, Map Discovery, or City Archive, but anyone with an active link may be able to view it. Do not treat a share link as a substitute for encryption or a confidential file-transfer service.
Location and personal safety
Review public location before publishing. Do not publish another person’s precise location, private address, confidential route, or other sensitive place information without permission. Approximate location controls reduce risk but cannot guarantee anonymity.
Acceptable use
Do not use Alinea to publish unlawful, abusive, threatening, exploitative, deceptive, privacy-invasive, infringing, or malicious content. Do not attempt to bypass visibility controls, access another person’s Private data, disrupt the service, automate abusive traffic, or misuse reports and comments.
Aleatrick may hide, restrict, withdraw, or remove public content or accounts when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, security, or service integrity.
Comments and social actions
Comments are intended for short, respectful responses. Alinea may provide controls to remove comments, approve comments, limit comments to followers, turn comments off, remove followers, mute users, block users, or report content. Counts and discovery order may change and are not guarantees of reach.
Membership and purchases
Membership may unlock expanded public publishing, media, archives, export, premium Tone options, statistics, or future sync. Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple’s payment, renewal, cancellation, and refund rules. Features and reasonable usage limits may change as the service develops.
Deleting an Alinea account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription. Manage subscriptions through Apple.
Translation and third-party services
Translations may contain errors and do not replace the original text. Maps, authentication, payments, and other platform features may depend on Apple, Google, Supabase, Cloudflare, or network availability. Their own terms may also apply.
Export and backup
Export is provided to help you keep readable copies and local backups. Review exported files before sharing because they may contain writing, location labels, media, or other personal information.
Availability and changes
Alinea may change, suspend, or discontinue features. Aleatrick aims to protect local records and provide reasonable notice for material cloud-service changes, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.
Disclaimer
Alinea is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the extent allowed by law. It is a journal and publishing tool, not an emergency, navigation, safety, medical, or legal service. Always use your own judgment while walking, traveling, and publishing location-linked content.
Limitation
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Aleatrick is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from unavailable services, third-party platforms, lost local-only data, user-published content, or decisions made from translated or location-linked information. Rights that cannot legally be limited remain unaffected.
Ending use
You may stop using Alinea at any time. Before deleting an account or app, export important local records, withdraw public content, and review the Deletion and Export Policy.
Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated as the product, Membership, or legal requirements change. Continued use after a material update means the revised Terms apply where permitted by law.
