Prompts

How to create and refine prompts in Prompt Deck.

Prompt Cards are executable AI tasks. Each card should describe one clear piece of work that can be copied into an AI tool.

What a Prompt Card can track

  • Status
  • Blocked by
  • Target tool
  • Instruction type
  • Task type
  • Success criteria
  • NG conditions
  • Prompt versions
  • Run Log notes

These fields are designed to control AI work safely. They help make it clear what should happen next, what must not happen, and when the work is complete.

Good Prompt Card habits

  • Use a clear title that describes the next action.
  • Keep the task executable, not vague.
  • Add success criteria when the output needs to be checked.
  • Add NG conditions for risky changes, unwanted behavior, or things the AI tool should avoid.
  • Set the target tool when a task is meant for Codex, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini, or another tool.
  • Update the status as the task moves through the workflow.

Versions and Run Log

Prompt versions help preserve changes to an instruction over time. Run Log support helps you keep track of what happened when a prompt was used.
